An accredited Psychological Life Coach.
I have two degrees in psychology (undergraduate and masters) and have worked in psychology services in the NHS for over five years. In this time I worked with 1000s of clients of all ages with an array of challenges including depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic attacks, eating disorders and autism. I have received training in cognitive behavioural therapy (linking thoughts, behaviours and feelings), mindfulness (focusing on the present, non-judgementally) and compassion focused therapy (helping to promote emotional wellbeing, where people respond more kindly to themselves).
Simply put, Coaching is where you work with someone to connect with yourself, redesign your environment and your life, and then take action to implement it!
For a long time I’d been overstretched at work; in a very high pressure environment with very limited resources. Even though I was unhappy and exhausted I couldn’t see a way out and didn’t have the self confidence to step outside of such an intense system. It wasn’t until I burnt out that I decided things had to change and that it was time to overcome the limiting view of myself I had bought into for so many years. I hired a business coach, I enrolled on a life coaching qualification and I gave in my notice at work. I now work as an accredited psychological life coach helping other people to overcome their own self-limiting views like I have.
my coaching style..
My style is not about using either psychology or life coaching but rather about combining the two.
As a life coach, I help the people I work with to activate and achieve their potential and the goals and desires they have for themselves, even if for them, they feel out of reach. The route to maximising full potential may be met with blocks and barriers, like negative thoughts such as ‘I always fail’ which, though challenging, can be overcome with the my support. With all clients I aim to ultimately give them the skills to be their own coach: able to identify and challenge their persistent undesirable thought patterns and behaviours.
I am a dedicated, intuitive and supportive coach and bring warmth and a sense of humour to the work I do. I integrate my skills and expertise to create individualised programmes for my clients, so that every journey is tailored to best suit their needs and create lasting and significant transformation.
